Gas cylinders are defined in accordance with EC directives as "mobile pressure appliances". In order to guarantee a high level of process safety, these elements are subject to specific rules and regulations. The most commonly applicable are indicated below:

  • Directive 1999/36/EG mobile pressure appliances
  • Directive 1997/23 EG Pressure appliances directive
  • DIN EN 1968:2002 Regular inspections
  • Operating safety regulations
  • ADR / RID hazardous goods on road regulations

All mobile pressure appliances are therefore subject to regular inspections by a designated or approved test centre. The test centre must stamp its reference number directly after the test date on all products subject to regular inspections and certify this regular inspection in writing.

Test frequency in compliance with ADR 2007 4.1.4.1 for example:

  • UN 1049 HYDROGEN, COMPRESSED  -
    10 years
  • UN 1072 OXYGEN, COMPRESSED  -
    10 years
  • UN 1956 COMPRESSED GAS, N.A.G. -
    10 years
  • UN 1975 NITROGEN MONOXIDE -

In addition to ultrasonic testing, we also offer water pressure testing as an alternative test process for all cases where the directives and regulations do not allow ultrasonic testing.
